Excellent advice. I'm reading a book now about finding joy in ordinary moments, and one of the keys is gratitude. I try to write one thing I'm grateful for in my journal each day. It isn't always easy, and some days feel like cheating: A good night's sleep; Air conditioning; We got our wild kitty into the crate for his vet visit. These seem small blessings for me, which indicates how fortunate I am compared to others. I'll try not to take them for granted. Thanks for a good suggestion.

Thanks for reading, Janice. I like your gratitude examples. There are times where I just overflow with gratitude... days where air conditioning and getting a good night's sleep please me so much. Living in gratitude is a wonderful mindset.

I have heard from many therapists that keeping a gratitude list promotes a good mood, but I find it extremely hard to do. I keep one for a few days and then something negative happens, and I stop. I should try again. Glad it's working for you.

There are days where I feel nothing but gratitude for just about everything, then other days… well, I just want to stew in my misery
